The Arabian Marine Species Observer Course (AMSO) is a CPD course for professionals working in the maritime industry within the Arabian Peninsula.
The course aims to train competent marine species observers to identify, monitor, record and report on the presence of marine species within sensitive coastal and offshore areas to ensure appropriate mitigation is implemented.
The programme is conducted over a 3-day window combining both classroom and field elements.
Along with a certificate of completion for the course, participants will also receive the AMSO Field Guide, developed by our specialists as well as full access to our online learning materials.
AMSO Online uses a distance learning format to provide the same level of expert instruction as you would receive in the classroom. Participants of the AMSO Online course will receive a certificate for the completion of the theoretical part of the AMSO course, along with digital copies of all course materials. The programme is conducted over a 2-day via distance learning, which covers only the theory elements of the course.
Please note that the completion of the practical day is still required for the full Arabian Marine Species Observer (AMSO) Certification*. The practical session can be arranged within one year of the completion of the AMSO Online course to upgrade to the full certification. The practical session can be completed either in Abu Dhabi or in Oman.
*The full AMSO Certification can be obtained upon completion of the AMSO Online course only if a participant is an experienced observer and holds an equivalent certification from an international certifying agency.

Refund & Cancellation Policy
The above listed training courses must be paid prior to the announced course starting date and prior to receipt of certificates. For courses held at NEA premises, we require full payment 48 hours prior to the course date.
A full refund will be provided on the actual cost of the course provided we receive notification of cancellation at least 72 hours prior to the course date.
Cancellations received less than 72 hours before the course, are not entitled to a refund.
All refunds are subject to deduction of 10% registration fee. Nautica Environmental Associates LLC reserves the right to cancel any training course due to insufficient enrolment at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled course date. Notice will be provided with the option to reschedule for a future course date or to receive a full refund of registration fees.
In the event of a course requiring rescheduling due to instructor illness or unavailability, the cost of the course will be refunded in full, or alternatively rescheduled at a mutually acceptable date. If a training class is cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances such as weather or natural disaster, the customer is entitled to reschedule for a future training course.

Shipping Policy
Upon payment of the selected course a confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address and the appropriate course materials will be made available for instant download.
After completing the course with a passing grade at the discretion of our AMSO instructors a certificate of completion will be sent to the registered email within 72hrs.
A physical certificate of completion as well as the AMSO field guide will be shipped within 1 week of course completion and delivered by courier with no additional cost to the participant.
Participants are always encouraged to enter accurate address details and contact numbers in order to ensure a timely delivery.
Participants may be asked to sign for the goods upon delivery. Once delivered and signed for, no claim of damaged goods will be accepted. Photo identification may be needed in some cases to accurately verify the receiver.
