  • Length: Medium sized dolphin up to 2.6m in length

  • Group Size: Large groups typically 100–2500 individuals

  • Key Features: Slender body, distinctive dorsal fin, size dimorphism

  • Behaviour: Fast swimmer reaching 28 km/h when fleeing

  • Habitat: Typically oceanic in tropical and subtropical waters, but may be close to shore where deep water occurs

  • Conservation Status: Listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List
