Smoothly sloping forehead with defined beak
Distinct central notch on tail flukes
Short dark stripe running to flipper
Long, narrow, tapering flippers
Stripe from the eye to the anal region
Light underside, often white or pink

Length: Medium dolphin measuring roughly 2.2–2.36 metres

Group Size: Typically 100–500; sometimes over one thousand

Key Features: Bluish‑gray body with dark eye‑to‑anus stripe and conspicuous pale shoulder blaze

Behaviour: Highly active; breaching, bow‑riding, unique “roto‑tailing”

Habitat: Warm‑temperate to tropical offshore and inshore waters
